One person a team: your teammates are the AI. The host puts people on Home or Away and sets the rules.
Click a key to change it, then press the new key (Esc cancels).
Your phenom plays for whichever team you're on: at this position, in your look, batting from your side.
Your team's numbers in the games you've played to the end.
Real baseball rules, quick games: three strikes, four balls, three outs a half. You bat and pitch for your team and run its bases; once the ball's in play your fielders play it by themselves (the red ring shows where a fly ball comes down). The team ahead after the last inning wins; a tie goes to extra innings. With the mercy rule on, a 10-run lead after any full inning ends it.
The bracket on the strike zone is your bat's reach. Mouse & Keyboard: move it over where the pitch will cross and click as it gets there: right click for a power swing (a smaller sweet spot, more carry), hold Space to bunt. Let go of the button early and you check your swing. Keyboard Only: the bracket follows the pitch by itself; time the swing with J (K for power, hold L to bunt), and W or S to lift or chop it. Keyboard Aiming: steer the bracket with WASD and swing with J, K or L.
The middle of the bracket is the sweet spot. Meet the ball there, right on time, for a PERFECT hit; do it with a power swing for a MOONSHOT. After each pitch the panel bottom right says how your timing and location matched.
Pick a pitch (1-4 or the wheel) and aim it with the mouse: the arrow shows how it will break from where you aim, the circle how far it can miss. Hold the button and trace the gesture as it fills, pull down to the circle and let go as the ring closes on it: the closer you follow it, the closer the pitch goes where you aimed (right button: max effort, faster but harder). Keyboard Only: aim with WASD, press J to start the meter and J again in the green (K: max effort). Keyboard Aiming: steer the target with WASD anywhere round the zone, as with the mouse, then work the meter.
R sends your runners, F holds them; hold 1, 2 or 3 with it for just the runner who started on that base. Before the pitch, R calls a steal. A runner must tag up after a caught fly.
Three hits in a row and your team is ON FIRE: a bigger sweet spot until your next out. Fielders dive for line drives and leap at the wall to rob home runs. Each can be switched off in New Game.
Esc pauses (and skips a replay). Z replays the last ball put in play between pitches. Every key can be changed in Options > Controls.
